In the heart of Bergslagen, surrounded by miles of forest, the Nyhyttan mountain farm sits on a hill with a lovely view of Lake Smedsjön and the old smelting area just below. Once upon a time there was a blast furnace, foundry and ironworks here, as well as several other buildings for workers and activities. The magnificent manor house, office wing and an exciting ruin of the foundry remain from that era. In the grounds there are several house foundations that show the location of the buildings.
