Founded by Scotsman James Christie in London in 1766, Christie's auction house is the world's leading specialist in fine art and antiques. Since 1999, the company has been owned by French multi-billionaire François-Henri Pinault, but its headquarters are still in London.
Christie's international real estate
In 1995, the auction house Christie's decided to make a real estate venture and acquired the luxury real estate network Great Estates.
